We regret to announce the passing of Roger L. Scott, age 56, of Iron City, GA who passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at the Donalsonville Hospital in Donalsonville, GA. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 22, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Dawson officiating. Interment will follow at Corinth Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Iron City, GA. Mr. Scott was born in Marion County, GA on August 24, 1949 to the late L. J. and Ouida Barrett Scott. He served his county in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He worked at Shaw Industries in Bainbridge, GA and was a member of Unity Church of God in Iron City, GA. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Patricia S. Scott; three sons James Lamar and Faith Scott; Donald Sherwood Scott; Roger Lamar, Jr. and Christy Scott of Iron City, GA; six brothers E. J. and Melba Scott of Iron City, GA; Buddy and Donna Scott; Gary and Nora Scott; Dennis and Sherle Scott all of Buena Vista, GA; Michael and Brenda Scott of Monk, GA; Allen and Julie Scott of Americus, GA; four sisters Margaret McKenzie of Columbus, GA; Mildred and Junior Jacobs of Culleoka, TN; Cathy and Bobby Wiggins; Merle Wiggins all of Buena Vista, GA. Five grandchildren also survive. Pallbearers will be Ray Scott, Robert Scott, Carl Scott, Danny Kinney, Charles Scott and Marcus Cox.
