MYRTLE LEWIS BOWEN

We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Myrtle Lewis Bowen, age 90, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Thursday evening, Jan. 31, 2008 at the Donalsonville Hospital. Funeral services for Mrs. Bowen will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 3:00 PM at Rocky Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Royce Williams and Rev. Stan Long officiating. Interment will follow in Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Miller County. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral at Rocky Ridge Bapist Church in Donalsonville, GA. Mrs. Bowen was born on October 31, 1917 in Blakely, GA to the late James Robert and Ida Blannon Bowen Lewis. She was married to Von Bowen who preceded her in death. Mrs. Bowen was a homemaker and a member of South Mount Zion Church of God. Mrs. Bowen leaves to cherish her memory a daughter-in-law, Eloise Bowen of Donalsonville, GA; two grandchildren, Keith Bowen and his wife Jujuan of Donalsonville, GA and Brooke B. Thomas and her husband Rev.Clay Thomas of Waycross, GA; four great grandchildren, Meagan Bowen and Clayton Bowen of Donalsonville, GA and Banner Thomas and Neeley Thomas of Waycross, GA ; and a sister, Dorothy Skipper of Blakely, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Robert and Ida Blannon Bowen Lewis; her husband, Von Bowen; a son, Daulton Bowen; two daughters, Myrle Joyce Bowen and Linda Gayle Bowen; a brother, Charlie Martin Lewis; and two sisters, Myrle Calista Lewis and Vinnie Louvenie Lewis. Pallbearers will be Greg Broxton, Rondall Broxton, Wallace Shiver, Tom Foster, Blake Foster, and Jeffie Shattles. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.
