We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Maxwell Eugene “Maxie” Smith, age 73, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Rose Haven in Thomasville, GA Funeral services for Maxie will be held on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Herman Enfinger and Rev. Rollin Rathel officiating. Burial will follow at Oakview Church of God Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA. He is survived by four sisters, Helen Earnest of Donalsonville, GA; Barbara McDowell and her husband James of Andalusia, AL; Linda Rathel and her husband Minter of Donalsonville, GA; Ginger McDowell and her husband Walter of Bainbridge, GA; two brothers, Edward Smith of Bainbridge, GA and Hayward Smith and his wife Nan of Clinton, NC. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Duke and Blanche Whitaker Smith; one sister, Margaret Ann Smith McNease and two brothers, David Smith and Carlton Smith. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
