We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Ocie Lee Tye, age 92, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at the Seminole Manor Nursing Home. Graveside services for Mrs. Tye will be held on Friday, September 2, 2005 at 2:00 PM at Friendship Memorial Gardens in Donalsonville, GA. Mrs. Tye was born in Houston Co., AL on June 11, 1913 to the late Boney and Lou During Shelley. She retired from the Donalsonville Hospital after working there for 16 years in the dietary department. She was a member of Union Baptist Church and the wife of the late Edward Tye who preceded her in death in 1978. Mrs. Tye leaves to cherish her memory two daughters-in-law, Joan "Robbie" Tye of Donalsonville, GA and Darlene Tye of Daleville, AL; a son-in-law, Al O'Kelley of Greenville, S.C.; 5 grandsons, 3 granddaughters, 8 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward Tye; 3 daughters, Eddie Merle Smith, Wilma O'Kelley, Jamie Lou Gordon; and 2 sons, Joel Edward Tye and Doyle Tye. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
