We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Carl Rathel, age 80, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Monday, November 12, 2012 at the Donalsonville Hospital ER. Funeral services for Mr. Rathel will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. James Scarborough, Dr. Mark Rathel and Rev. David Rathel officiating. Interment will follow at Friendship Memorial Gardens in Donalsonville, GA. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA. You may sign the online guest register by visiting our website at www.evansskipperfh.com. Mr. Rathel was born in Donalsonville, GA on October 4, 1932 to the late Zeke and Edna Daniels Rathel. He was a member of Donalsonville Assembly of God. He retired from the United State Air Force, after 22 years of service, with the rank of Master Sergeant and later worked for the U.S. Federal Civil Service for a total of 42 years service. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Carolyn Brimlow Rathel; one daughter, Vicki Rathel both of Donalsonville, GA; one son, Dr. Mark Rathel and his wife Angela of Westville, FL; two grandsons David Rathel and his wife April of Scottsburg, VA; Steven Rathel and his wife Megan of Glendale, Fl; one sister, Jencie R. Langley Ingram of Donalsonville, GA. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, Zeke and Edna Daniels Rathel; one brother, Arcola Rathel, and sister, Fannie R. Mills. Active casketbearers will be Paul Brimlow, Raven Brimlow, Scott Brimlow, Charles Johnson, David Rathel and Steven Rathel. Honorary casketbearers will be Edward Barber, David Daniels, Frazier Lindsey, Marshall Williams and Ralph Wiggins.
