We regret to announce the passing of Mr. George Brookins, age 49, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008 at his residence. A memorial service will be held Friday, January 11, 2008 at 3:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Barineau officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 10, 2008 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Evans-Skipper. Mr. Brookins was born in Graceville, FL on July 9, 1958 to Elaine Eade Brookins Armentrout and the late Francis Brookins. He served his county in the US Army, had lived here the past 8 years was a machinist, and also attended New Hope Worship Assembly. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Brookins of Donalsonville, GA; one son, Greg Brookins and his wife Kathlena of Lugoff, SC; two daughters, Nicole Atkinson of Donalsonville and Amanda Brookins of Edgewater, FL; mother and step-father Johnny and Elaine Armentrout of Front Royal, VA; mother and father-in-law Henry and Ruth Gibson of Colquitt; father and mother-in-law Alvin and Kokie Atkinson of Crystal River, FL; one brother Frank Brookins and his wife Barbara of Ansonia, CT; seven sisters, Karen Tolbert of Mitchell, IN; Joann Murphy of Paoli, IN; Mary Dempsey of Terrville, CT; Priscilla Kulmac of Georgetown, IN; Robin Hill of Salem, IN; Alice Schneider of Ansonia, CT; Valerie Marsden of Ringgold, GA; one uncle, Donald and Mavis Brookins of Colquitt. He is also survived by two grandchildren Jonah and Kate Brookins as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
