Around 5 o’clock PM October 8, 2012 the Lord God most certainly spoke the words “well done my good and faithful servant’ to Dorothy Smith Houston. A woman of the truest devotion imaginable to her family and her husband Stephen Billy Houston. She was a giver of irreplaceable love to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and will be missed by all who knew her. The memories, acts of kindness, and godly examples she has left will certainly be enough to fill any void her loved ones will feel. Funeral service for Mrs. Houston will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 3:00 PM at New Salem Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Harris officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 from 2:00-3:00 PM at New Salem Free Will Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery. Mrs. Houston was born in Houston County, AL on August 14, 1932 to the late Wilbur Wright Smith ad Nellie Jane Hicks Smith. She was a homemaker and worked in the farming industry with her family. She was a member of New Salem Free Will Baptist Church and a member of the Red Hats Society. Mrs. Houston is survived by her children, Elaine Houston Johnson and her husband Danny, Stephen Emmett Houston and his wife Ramona, and Cynthia Kaye Houston; three brothers, Phillip Williams, Tony Smith, Wilbur Smith and two sisters, Ann Fiorenza and her husband Tom, Rebecca Robinson; her grandchildren, Stephanie Johnson Mims and her husband Greg, Rachel Johnson, Milton Truette Johnson and his wife Jill, Sophie Houston Adams and her husband Mike, Stephen Emmett Houston, Jr. and his wife Cristina, Billie Lee Houston Herrington and her husband Ryan, Cody Walker Houston, Matthew Bruton Houston, Bonnie Jean Houston, Lily Kathryn Houston; her great grandchildren, Will Mims, Katibeth Mims, Jillian Johnson, Addison Johnson, Michael Adams, Josh Adams, Marlo Adams, Caleb Adams, Sierra Houston, Gabe Jones, and Rylee Herrington. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur Wright Smith and Nellie Jane Hicks Smith; and her husband, Stephen Billy Houston, a baby daughter, Billy Jean Houston; two brothers, David Williams and Michael Smith.
