We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Clarence Donice Godwin, age 72, of Iron City, GA, who passed away Wednesday Morning, October 3, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be held, Friday, October 5, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Rock Pond Church in Iron City, GA with Elder Ross Plowden and Rev. Andy Glover officiating. Interment will follow Rock Pond Cemetery in Iron City, GA. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mr. Godwin was born in Climax, GA. on October 16, 1939 to the late Milton and Mable Kelly Godwin. He worked as a truck driver in the logging business, and was a member of Rock Pond Church. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Hazel Godwin of Iron City, GA; two sons, Robbie Godwin of Brinson, GA and Kent Mathis and his wife Lesa of Iron City, GA; two daughters, Genell Cogland and her husband, George of Martinsburg West VA; Yvonne Parker and her husband Chad of Donalsonville, GA; two brothers, Monroe Godwin and his wife Marianne; Earl Godwin and his wife Gwen both of Bainbridge, GA; two sisters, Janet McQuaig of Tallahassee, FL and Patsy Bearden and her husband Billy of Ruskin, LA. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Mable Kelly Godwin and a sister, Doris Godwin Jacobs. Active casketbearers will be Chason Mathis, Joe Changose, Justin Cogland, Neal Buckhaulter, Bill Barrineau, Donnie Moulton, Tommy Hunter, and William Mathis.
