VERA HOUSE HICKS

We regret to announce the passing of Vera Hicks, age 84, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Monday, July 18, 2005 at Early Memorial Nursing Home in Blakely, GA. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Roberts and Rev. Hubert Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Oakview Church of God Cemetery in Donalsonville, GA. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 19, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. You may share your thoughts with the family by visiting our website at www.evansskipperfh.com. Mrs. Hicks was born in Seminole County, GA on July 18, 1921 to the late M. T. and Annie Whittaker House. She was married to Olen Hicks, who preceded her in death in 1985. Mrs. Hicks worked as a nurse for a many years. She was a member of Rocky Ridge Baptist Church; however, she was a charter member of Oakview Church of God and was the last charter member still living. Mrs. Hicks leaves to cherish her memory, two sons; Lamar Hicks and his wife Margaret and Curtis Hicks and his wife Janet all of Donalsonville, GA. Seven grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren also survive. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
