We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Melton Max Flowers, age 84, of Iron City, GA who passed away Monday, September 17, 2012 at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 20 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA with Dr. Johnny Roberts, Rev. Bobby Lee Tidwell, and Rev. Roger Fyock officiating. Interment will follow in Corinth Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mr. Flowers was born in Pike County, AL on November 11, 1927 to the late Lorenzo Calvin Flowers and Eva Lois Roland Flowers. He was a member of Iron City Baptist Church in Iron City, GA and worked 39 years for the Continental Can Company. He also served in the United States Army/Air Force during World War II. Mr. Flowers is survived by his wife, Runell Tidwell Flowers of Donalsonville, GA; daughters, Barbara Faye McDonald (Royce) of Lakeland, FL, Linda Carol Warnock (Billy) of Bonifay, FL, Deborah Sue Fyock (Roger) of Winter Haven, FL; brother, Roland Flowers (Edna) of Troy, AL; sisters, Eloyce Reynolds of Enterprise, AL, Margaret Brooks of Troy, AL, Elizabeth Kelly of Columbus, GA; eight grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo Calvin Flowers and Eva Lois Roland Flowers; his son, Robert David Flowers; two brothers, James Robert Flowers, Lannie Wilson Flowers; and two sisters, Helen McKenzie, Patty Drinkard. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
