DAVID GIVENS

We regret to announce the passing of Mr. David Givens, age 79, who passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, July 20, 2012 at Oakview Church of God in Donalsonville with Rev. Gerald Horn and Rev. Kenneth Kicklighter officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service 1:00 PM at Oakview Church of God. Mr. Givens was born in Laurel Hill, FL on July 11, 1933. He was a member of Oakview Church of God, the American Legion Post 157, and worked as an insurance agent. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Givens of Donalsonville, GA; two sons, Allen Givens and his wife Lola of Donalsonville, GA; Andy Givens and his wife, Andrea of Colquitt, GA; two daughters, Becky McAllister and her husband Ronnie of Marianna, FL; Wanda Rykard and her husband Roger of Iron City, GA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ashley Rykard and his wife Shona; Adam Rykard, Chelsea Givens, Lacey O’Neal, Hudson Givens, Landon Givens and one great grandchild, Blake Rykard.. He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Jeanette Berry Givens and two brothers, Ray Givens and O’Neal Givens. Casketbearers will be Greg Broxton, Adam Rykard, Ashley Rykard, Dee Albritton, Jerry Houston, Steve Houston, Dennis O’Hearn and Ray Hayslip. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 157, PO Box 1044 Donalsonville, GA 39845. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
