J. T. Murkerson

We regret to announce the passing of J. T. Murkerson, age 77, of Jakin who passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at the Donalsonville Hospital. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 9, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Love officiating. Interment will follow at Springfield Baptist Church Cemetery in Jakin, GA. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 8, from 7:00-9:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mr. Murkerson was born in Miller County, GA on May 7, 1928 to the late Clarence and Mittie Chinell Murkerson. He lived here for the past 9 years, worked as a truck driver and attended the Assembly of God Church. He is survived by his wife Betty Murkerson of Jakin, GA; a daughter Marie Hamilton of FL; five brothers Jack Murkerson of Plant City, FL, Floyd Murkerson of Haines City, FL, Clifford Murkerson of Jakin, GA, Arthur "Sonny" Murkerson of Coco Beach, FL, William Murkerson of Jakin, GA; two sisters Florrie Herring of Grand Ridge, FL and Lena Bush of Lakeland, FL. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Larry Murkerson, Steven Murkerson, David Bush, Billy Herring, Ronnie Murkerson and James Murkerson. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Bluford Murkerson Evans-Skipper Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
