ROBERT HARDY HORNE

We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Robert Hardy Horne, age 94, of Iron City, GA. who passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Iron City Baptist Church in Iron City, GA with Dr. Johnny Roberts and Rev. James Scarborough officiating. Interment will follow in Corinth Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Iron City, GA. Visitation will be held Friday, May 11, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mr. Horne was born in Iron City, GA. on December 21, 1917 to the late Horace and Ada Lee Harlow Horne. He was a member of Iron City Baptist Church; a bus driver for Seminole County School System. A farmer who also owned and operated Horne Meat Company for many years. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn C. Horne of Iron City, GA; sons, Eugene Horne and his wife Colleen of Iron City, GA; Robert A. “Bobby” Horne and his wife Chris of Atlanta, GA; Kenneth Horne of Iron City, GA; step-son, Gary Cunningham and his wife Pam of Donalsonville, GA; daughters, Geneva Lane of Donalsonville, GA and Rita Sirmons of Iron City, GA; grandchildren, Gene and Patty Horne, Marsha Golden and Ronnie, Steve Horne and Lori, Sheri Toole and Mike, Saundra King and Dean, Tony Lane and Bonnie, Tammy Bond, Kristie Mzili, Garrison Horne, Robert Smith and Heidi, Will Cunningham and Ben Cunningham. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Maggie Conner Horne, son, Roger Horne, daughter-in-law, Nancy Horne and son-in-law, Sam Lane. Casketbearers will be Wes Dozier, Garrison Horne, Ronnie Golden, Jim Dozier, Alton Harrison, Ervin Barber, Trey Trawick and Rusty Trawick.
