Virginia Helms Kelly

We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Virginia Helms Kelly, age 84, of Iron City who passed away April 30, 2012 at her residence. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Friendship Memorial Gardens in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Andy Glover officiating. She was born on November 24, 1927, in Jackson County, FL to the late Arthur Robert and Callie Dickens Helms. She was a member of Iron City Baptist Church, and was retired from Contel Telephone Company. Mrs. Kelly enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with her family. She is survived by two sons, Richard Kelly of Colquitt, GA; and Donnie Ray Kelly of Iron City, GA; and one daughter, Gwen Williams of Iron City, GA; two sisters, Mavis Bruner and Gerry Howell both of Marianna, FL. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild as well as several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank special caregivers Peggy Rice, Bobbi Taylor, Nadeni Smullen for their excellent care. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Robert and Callie Dickens Helms; her husband, J.P. Kelly and a brother, LaDon Helms. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
