We regret to announce the passing of Merrell Robinson,Sr. age 88, of Cairo, GA who passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Gerald Horne, Rev. Herman Enfinger and Rev. Joe Tatum. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Donalsonville, GA. Visitation will be held Friday, March 30, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. He was born in Opelika, AL on November 25, 1923 to the late Annie Sue Gulledge and Mack Robinson, Sr. He served his country in the US Army; was a member of the American Legion. He worked with various construction companies and was a member of Unity Church of God. He is survived by two sons, Johnny Merrell Robinson, Jr. and his wife Libby of Donalsonville , GA: Roy Gregory Robinson, Sr. and his wife Debbie of Cairo, GA; one brother, Paul Robinson of Rome, GA. He is also survived by grandchildren, Chris Robinson, Myranda Mann, Roy Robinson, Jr., Dewain Robinson, Robert Wayne Robinson, William Bryant Robinson, Kent Lewis Robinson,Sr., Eldridge Mack Robinson, Jr, Robbie Ayles and Annie Sue Robinson and great grandchildren, Lillian Robinson, Caiden Mann, Sabatian Robinson, Andrea Ayles, Cheyenne Ayles, Dakota Ayles,McKensi Lynn Robinson, Kent Lewis Robinson, Jr., Corey Robinson, and Kiere Robinson He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie Sue Gulledge and Mack Robinson, Sr.; his wife, Lucy Laura O'Hearn Robinson;two sons, Eldridge Mack Robinsons, Sr. and Dewain “Bill” Robinson; three sisters, Gertie Mae Dyer, Wynette Robinson, Mamie Robinson and one brother, Mack Robinson, Jr. Casketbearers will be his grandsons, Chris Robinson, Roy Robinson, Jr., Dewain Robinson, Robert Wayne Robinson, William Bryant Robinson, Kent Lewis Robinson,Sr., Eldridge Mack Robinson, Jr, Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
