We regret to announce the passing of Woodrow Atkinson, age 87, who passed away Friday, February 10, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 13, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Tommy Henchel officiating. Interment will follow Salem Seminole Baptist Church Cemetery on Hwy 374 in Donalsonville, GA. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Ellerslie,GA and was an avid Braves fan. He was in the Nursing Home in Waverly Hall, GA and his niece Lynda Eldridge and her husband Clint cared for him these past few years. He was preceded in death by 6 brothers, Ocie Atkinson, Mack Atkinson, Curtis Atkinson, Benny Atkinson, Walter Atkinson and Floyd Atkinson as well as three sisters, Sallie Atkinson, Emily Ruth A. Henry, and Lucy Mandy A. Gause. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
