JAMES THOMAS BELL

May 4, 1921 — February 2, 2012

We regret to announce the passing of Mr. James Thomas Bell, age 90, of Iron City, GA who passed away Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Olive Grove/Rock Pond Cemetery in Iron City, GA with Elder Plowden and Elder Ed Colley officiating. Mr. Bell was born in Attapulgus, GA on May 4, 1921 to the late Thomas Wiley Bell and Mattie Verlitia Fiveash. He was a member of Olive Grove/Rock Pond Primitive Baptist Church and he was a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Special Forces where he served in World War II, Korea, and Southeast Asia. Mr. Bell is survived by his son, James Clifton Bell of Iron City, GA; his daughter, Susan Elizabeth Ramp and her husband Michael of Augusta, GA; eight grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Wiley Bell and Mattie Verlitia Fiveash Bell; his wife, Carolyn Sanders Bell; a son, Vaughn Thomas Bell; his brother, Joseph Bell, and his sister, Annie Sarah Kohout. Active casketbearers will be his grandsons. In request from The James T. Bell Family Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Carolyn S. Bell to the American Cancer Society Breast Awareness, P.O. Box 616 Donalsonville, GA. 39845 Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
