MAVIS CLAIRE STRINGFELLOW BOLTON

We regret to announce the passing of Mavis S. Bolton, age 98, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at the Donalsonville Hospital. Funeral services for Mrs. Bolton will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2012, at 2:00 PM at Friendship United Methodist Church in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Kirk Loyless officiating. Interment will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Donalsonville, GA. She was born in, Houston County, AL on June 26, 1913 to the late John Robert and Samantha Alberta Hand Stringfellow. She graduated from Columbia, AL High School and Frazier Ellis Nursing School. She had a long and distinguished career as a nurse and as Director of Nursing at Donalsonville Hospital. She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church, the Addie Brigham Sunday School Class and also a member of the Bridge Club. She enjoyed her work, her family and friends, her whole life was dedicated to service to other people. She is survived by brother, John Robert Stringfellow; sister, Beatrice “Bebe” Stringfellow of Donalsonville, GA; numerous nieces and nephews. She was married for 48 years to Cecil Bolton who preceded her in death, also preceded by her parents, John Robert and Samantha Alberta Hand Stringfellow; brothers,Louie Stringfellow, O.D. Stringfellow, Shelby Stringfellow sisters, Effie Henderson, Edna Collins, Quida Pate and Vera Henderson. Flowers accepted or contributions may be made to Friendship United Methodist Church P.O.
