We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Loray Herring Perkins, age 76, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Thursday afternoon, August 2, 2007 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 6, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Oakview Church of God with Rev. M. Thomas Propes and Rev. Matthew T. Propes officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 5, from 5:00-8:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. She was married to Rev. Virgil Perkins and also owned and operated Decatur House Restaurant in Bainbridge. She was a member of Boykin Church of God. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Rev. Virgil Perkins of Donalsonville, GA, one daughter, LaQuita Propes and her husband Rev. M. Thomas Propes of Mauldin, S.C., daughter-in-law, Beverly Perkins of Brunswick, GA; one brother, Kenneth Herring and his wife Faye of Iron City, GA; She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Lamar Perkins; a daughter, LaJuana Perkins; two sisters, Mamie McCorkle and Famie Easom; and three brothers, W.C. Herring, Alfred Herring and Wilburn Herring. Pallbearers will be Tracy Perkins, Lynn Perkins, Ronnie Perkins, Everett Perkins, Darrell Pearson and Larry Perkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Leroy Starling, Larry Chapman, Randy Yawn, Barry Van Kirk, Larry Johnson and Byran Aulds. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
