Annie Benton Howard Reynolds, age 96, of Savannah and formerly of Donalsonville, GA passed away Wednesday evening, Dec. 7, 2011 in Savannah, GA. Funeral services for Mrs. Reynolds will be held on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 10, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Friendship United Methodist Church in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Kirk Loyless officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 2:00 PM at the church. Mrs. Reynolds was born to Otho and Scottie Crowder Benton on February 28, 1915 in Donalsonville, GA. After graduating in 1931 as Valedictorian of Seminole County High School with a grade average of 98.5, she continued her education at Campbell College of Business in Alabama and LaSalle University in Illinois. On Nov. 26, 1936, she married Eager H. Howard, and had one child, Dr. Donald H. Howard. After the death of Mr. Howard, she was later married to Kenneth H. Reynolds on Jan. 1, 1979. She held administrative positions in Donalsonville and Pelham, GA, and for many years was a licensed realtor and insurance broker. She was interested and active in community and civic affairs throughout her life. She was a member of The Donalsonville Woman’s Club, serving at various times as President and as Secretary and as Parlimentarian. Mrs. Reynolds as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Seminole County Library, and served as secretary while a member of the S.W. GA Regional Library. She recently donated her personal interesting and extensive library to the Seminole Co. Library in Donalsonville. She was an active participant in the Chattahoochee Trace. Mrs. Reynolds was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church, where she has been a Sunday School teacher, a Vacation Bible School teacher, Superintendent of the Youth Dept., a member of the Administrative Board, a member of the Board of Trustees, and has held offices in the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Reynolds leaves to cherish her memory, a son, Dr. Donald H. Howard of Savannah, GA; a daughter by marriage, Sue Reynolds Griner of Tallahassee, FL; two sisters, Jo Adams and Nancy Benton of Donalsonville, GA; two granddaughters, Staci Howard Cannon and Ragan Howard Lee; and two great grandsons, Stephen Cannon and Jack Cannon. Mrs. Reynolds was preceded in death by her parents, Otha and Scottie Crowder Benton; a brother, Mills Benton; and two sisters, Louise Benton White and Rebecca Benton.
