We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Jimmy Ted Smith, age 64, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Sunday, November 13, 2011. Funeral services for Mr. Smith will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Merritt officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Seminole Baptist Church Cemetery in Donalsonville, GA with military honors by the US Navy. Visitation will be held Friday, November 18, 2011 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mr. Smith was born in Donalsonville, GA on September 18, 1947 to the late Robert McKinley and Emmie Faison Smith. He graduated high school in1965 and served in the US Navy for 23 years and retired as a Chief Boatswain’s Mate. He was a member of Hebrew Freewill Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kathryn Faircloth Smith; Children, Katie Napier and husband Mike of Macon,GA, Lamont Smith of Sylvester, GA, Etta Smith of Broxton, GA and Jennifer Smith of Port Hueneme, CA; Grand-Children, Michael Napier, Alisha Napier, William Smith, Casey Coleman and husband Myles, and Stacy Smith; Great-Grandchildren, Caleb Coleman, Braylon Cook, Hayden Patridge, and Landon Wood; Brothers and Sisters, Mary Alice Smith of Donalsonville,GA, Gene and Myra Durrance of Pittsview AL., Ruby Jewel Whitaker of Donalsonville, GA, Buddy Smith of Dothan, AL, Gary Smith and wife Sharon of Thomasville, GA, Charlotte and Boyd Phillips of Donalsonville, GA; Patti and Marshall Faircloth of Tallahassee, FL, Sue Preston of Milton FL, Etta Tucker of Pensacola FL, and Bartow and Rae Faircloth of Brinson, GA as well as many neices and nephews, and great-neices and nephews. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, Robert McKinley and Emmie Faison Smith; a brother, William R. ("Pete") Smith; two sisters, Margaret Roberts, and Emma Jean McLendon; beloved pets, Kris Kringle, B.J., Charcoal and Cindy Up. Casketbearers will be Ted Smith, Randall Smith, Larry Harrell, Mitch Comerford, Randy Faircloth, Calvin Hunt, Frank Faircloth and Tommy Hudson. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
