Edward "Jr." Hodges

We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Edward “Junior” Hodges, age 88, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Donalsonville Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA with Dr. Calvin Arnold officiating. Interment will follow at Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Donalsonville, Ga. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Interment will be held in Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Hodges was born in Donalsonville, GA on December 1, 1922 to the late Alex Tucker and Vera Hodges Tucker. He was a member of Union Baptist Church and worked as a farmer and worked for Seminole Nitrogen. Mr. Hodges is survived by three sisters, Nina Barwick of Miami, FL, Virginia Davis and her husband Ted of AR, and Carolyn Gamble of Tallahassee, FL. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Hodges was preceded in death by his parents, Alex Tucker and Vera Hodges Tucker; and his brother, Eugene Tucker. Casketbearers will be David Norris, Jay Holman, Bobby Houston, Andy Stewart, Mitch Newborn, Keith Gandy, Johnny Buckhalter, and Tony Reynolds. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Union Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
