We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Daphine Cowart Spence, age 66, of Colquitt, GA who passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Robert Johns, Rev. Herman Enfinger and Rev. Corey Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends at Evans Skipper Funeral Home on Friday, October 7, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 PM. Mrs Spence was born on January 28, 1945 to the Leon E. and Lucile Danford Cowart. A member of Flat Creek Baptist Church. She worked a short time at Donalsonville Nursing Home and Farmers Fertilizer and Milling Co. Most of her time was spent at home with children and grandchildren. She was a loving and caring person to all. She is also survived by her husband, Thomas E. “Brother” Spence, Sr.; two sons, Thomas E. “Toby” Spence, Jr. and his wife Renee`, Casey Gabriel “Gabe”and his wife Lachelle; one daughter, Tommie Sue S. Standifer and her husband Frank, Jr. all of Colquitt, GA; one sister, Wylene Moseley and her husband of Jakin, GA; Grandchildren, Shelby Standifer, Kelsie Standifer, Tristan Spence, Tucker Spence, Dalton Spence and Marshal Spence. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon E. and Lucile Danford Cowart; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bud and Rena Spence; two sisters Irene C. Symonds and Christine C. Smith and one brother Eugene “Buddy” Cowart. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
