We regret to announce the passing of Mr. James Raymond Anderson, age 82, of Kingston Springs, TN who passed away peacefully surrounded by his family September 4, 2011. A visitation will be held Wednesday September 7, 2011 from 4:00PM – 8:00 PM at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home in Nashville, TN. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Salem Seminole Baptist Church in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Curtis Earnest and Rev. Wayne McDonald officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 10, 2011 one hour prior to the service at Salem-Seminole Church. He was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church in Kingston Springs, TN for 14 years. He enjoyed working with wood, gardening, fishing and being a handyman. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marjorie McDonald Anderson; children Cathy Gettle (Mike), Dr. Reggie Anderson (Karen) and Tom Anderson (Karen);Grandchildren, Jenn LaVigne (Nick) of Wyoming, MI, Kristen Kernaghan (David) of Belfast, Ireland, Ashley McCarthy (Ciaran) of Los Angeles, CA, Julia Chapman (Caleb) of Franklin, TN, David Anderson of Birmingham, AL, Lauren Anderson of Auburn, AL and Amanda Anderson of Huntsville, AL; sisters Loyce Sexson of Montgomery, AL and Joyce McCall of Columbia, TN; brother, Clyde Anderson of Huntsville, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Bryant Anderson and Eunice Roe Anderson; brother, Herman Anderson; grandson, Jon Gettle. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Show Hope Foundation, Christ Presbyterian Church (Believe Campaign) 2323 Old Hickory Blvd. Nashville, TN, 37215, Auburn University (Dept of Education) and The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Harpeth Hills Funeral Home ,9090 Hwy 100, Nashville, TN 37221 Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA is in charge of the arrangements.
