Robert "Bob" Ellis

We regret to announce the passing of Robert "Bob" Ellis, age 71, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Monday, June 11, 2007 in Blairsville, GA following and extended illness. Memorial services will be held Friday, June 15, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Reynolds Chapel United Methodist Church in Donalsonville with Rev. Edwin Willis officiating. Mr. Ellis was born on June 12, 1935 in Emeigh, PA the son of the late Clarence Ellis, Sr. and Marion Gentles Ellis. He was retired from the US Navy, serving in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He received over eighteen Medals and Awards while in the Military. He loved his God and his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was a member of Reynolds Chapel United Methodist Church. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of fourteen years, Jean Ellis Donalsonville, GA; three sons, Bob Ellis, Jr. of Henderson, NV; Michael Ellis of Austin, TX; David Ellis and his wife Ann of Arlington, TX; three step sons, Alan Woods and his wife Nancy of Fayetteville, GA; Tommy Woods and his wife Brenda of Thomasville, GA; Gary Woods and his wife Heather of Dacula, GA; one sister Phyllis Schmidt and her husband Dan of Youngstown, OH; one brother, Herbert Ellis and his wife Susie of Aubrey, TX. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Kati, Cory, Kenny, Delaney, Sydney,and Micaela and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Barbara Ellis and two brothers, Jack and Charles Ellis. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
