Lamar "Sam" Collie Lane

We regret to announce the passing of, Mr. Lamar Collie “Sam” Lane, age 75, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away July 21, 2011 at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Lane will be held Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Charles Barineau officiating. Interment will be at Corinth Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Iron City, GA. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, July 22, 2011 at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mr. Lane was born May 27, 1936 in Colquitt, GA to the late Lawrence Collie Lane and Mildred Roberts Lane. He worked as a mechanic for Amaco Fabrics and was a member of New Hope Worship Assembly. Mr. Lane is survived by his wife, Geneva Horne Lane; his son, Tony Lane and his wife Bonnie of Colquitt, GA; his daughter, Saundra King and her husband Dean of Donalsonville, GA; his brothers, Kenneth Lane and his wife June of Colquitt, GA, Phil Lane and his wife Lynn of Colorado, Ronnie Joe Lane and his wife Harriett of Donalsonville, GA, Mike Lane and his wife Alisa of Headland, AL; his sisters, Joan Kirkland and her husband Terrell of Colquitt, GA, Linda Lane of Colquitt, GA, Gail Altman and her husband Jay of Thomasville, GA, Penny Lane and her husband Keith of Colquitt, GA. He also survived by his grandchildren Brandon and his wife Laura Lane, Chris Lane, Renea Schoonhoven and her husband Jason, and Christy King; great grandchildren, Drew Schoonhoven, and Bowen Lane He was preceded in death by his parents Lawence Collie Lane and Mildred Roberts Lane. Pallbearers will be Brandon Lane, Taylor Lane, Marcus Lane, David Lane, Chris Lane, and Jon Michael Lane. Honorary pallbearers will be Rev. Benjamin Miller and Keith Lane. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
