THE FAMILY OF LARRY HUGH DURDEN, AGE 69, REGRETFULLY ANNOUNCE THE LOSS OF THEIR BELOVED HUSBAND, FATHER, AND GRANDFATHER. MR. DURDEN PASSED AWAY ON MONDAY, JUNE 27, 2011 AT SOUTHEAST ALABAMA MEDICAL CENTER, DOTHAN, AL. MR. DURDEN WAS BORN JANUARY 28, 1942, IN SEMINOLE COUNTY, GA, TO LEROY AND MELBA DURDEN. HE GRADUATED SEMINOLE COUNTY HIGH IN 1960. WORKING IN THE PAPER INDUSTRY FOR OVER 25 YEARS, HE MADE FRIENDS SPANNING FROM ORANGE TX, TO GEORGETOWN, SC. HE MAINTAINED THOSE FRIENDSHIPS AS HE AND HIS FAMILY RELOCATED BACK TO DONALSONVILLE AND BEGAN THEIR BUSINESS, DURDEN KNIFE AND SAW, IN 1991. HE WAS A MEMBER OF MASONIC LODGE #83, SCOTTISH RITE GALVESTON, TX, AND A MEMBER AND SUPPORTER OF SEMINOLE COUNTY YOUNG FARMERS. LARRY WAS ALSO A MEMBER OF FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH IN DONALSONVILLE, GA. HE FREQUENTED GATEWAY TO HAVE COFFEE WITH HIS LOCAL BUDDIES. HE NEVER MET A STRANGER AND ALWAYS ENJOYED A GOOD LAUGH. HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE OF 49 YEARS, JANICE(FRAZIER)DURDEN; ONE SON, HUGH SCOTT DURDEN; AND SIX ADORED GRANDCHILDREN, HUDSON, LANDON, CAMERON, BRANNON, ASHLYN, AND WESTON. MR. DURDEN IS ALSO SURVIVED BY TWO SISTERS, DONNA(DALE)RAMTHUN AND SHELIA(RICHARD)WILLIAMS; AND ONE BROTHER, LEON(DEBRA)DURDEN ALL OF DONALSONVILLE, GA; AND MANY NEPHEWS AND NIECES. HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS PARENTS, LEROY AND MELBA DURDEN OF DONALSONVILLE, GA AND HIS INLAWS, SAM AND ALIENE "SHUG" FRAZIER OF IRON CITY, GA. VISITATION WILL BE HELD AT THE FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF DONALSONVILLE, GA, TUESDAY, JUNE 28, 2011. FUNERAL SERVICES ARE PLANNED FOR WEDNESDAY, JUNE 29TH, 2011, 5 PM AT FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, DONALSONVILLE, WITH BURIAL SERVICE TO FOLLOW AT OAKVIEW CHURCH OF GOD.
