We regret to announce the passing of Katie Williams Cross, age 92, of Clarkston, GA who passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at Odyssey Hospice House. Funeral services for Mrs. Cross will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2007, at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA with the Rev. Billy Dawson officiating. Burial will follow in the Corinth Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Iron City, GA. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mrs. Cross was born in Decatur Co., GA on Oct. 26, 1914 to the late Henry Thomas and Donie Hurst Williams. She was a homemaker and of the Pentacostal faith. Mrs. Cross leaves to cherish her memory 5 sons, Henry C. Cross and his wife Jerry of Baker, FL, Rufus M. Cross and his wife Carolyn of Clarkes Hill, SC, Clarence C. Cross and his wife Doris of Kokomo, IN, James E. Cross and his wife Rita of Clarkes Hill, SC, and Henry T. Cross and his wife Sandra of Coco, FL; 3 daughters, Rita Hall and her husband Gerald of Clarkston, GA, Eloise C. Levan and her husband Homer of Great Falls, SC, and Katie Windham and her husband John of Donalsonville, GA. She has 21 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren also surviving, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clarence Cross, 2 brothers, Clifford Williams and Luther Williams; 4 sisters, Lillie Mae Connell, Emerline Williams, Lollie Cee Williams, and Velma Quick. Two grandchildren, Lynn Reid and Cindy Doughtry, and one great grandchild, Clint Cameron, preceded her in death. Pallbearers will be Sean Cross, Michael Layton, Todd Mosley, Clay Cross, Larry Bird,Chris Buckhalter, Christopher Cross, Jonathan Cross, and Christopher Mitchell. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
