ROBERT PHILLIPS

We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Robert Phillips, age 79, of Iron City, GA who passed away May 31, 2011 at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Robert Phillips will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. James Scarborough officiating. Interment will follow at Corinth Cemetery in Iron City, GA. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. He was born on October 24, 1931 to the late Jim Phillips and Braswell Martin Phillips. He worked as a welder at Lewis M. Carter Manufacturing Company in Donalsonville, GA. He is survived by two sons, Robert Sherrer and Raymond Sherrer both of Iron City, GA; two daughters, Judy Coleman of Jacksonville, AR; Theresa Buckhalter and her husband Weymon of Donalsonville, GA; four brothers, Larry Phillips and his wife Linda; Thomas Phillips and J.D Phillips all of Donalsonville, GA; Albert Phillips and his wife Mollie of Dothan, AL; three sisters, Louise Chambliss of Colquitt, GA; Eloise McCusker of Atlanta, GA and Lorine Phillips of Eldorado, GA. He is also survived by four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Jim Phillips and Braswell Martin Phillips, his wife Marie Daniels Phillips; three brothers, Calvin Phillips, Roy Gene Phillips and James Phillips and one sister, Lucille Phillips. Casketbearers will be Chris Buckhalter, Jeff Sherrer, Heath Sherrer, Paul Phillips, Shannon Phillips, Glen McMillian and James Phillips. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements
