We regret to announce the passing of Claude Thomas Ashley, Sr., age 72, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2007, at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL. Funeral services for Mr. Ashley will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at 10:00 AM at Friendship United Methodist Church in Donalsonville, Ga with Rev. Randy Mickler and Rev. Luther Hastey officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery in Donalsonville. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. C. and Ida Rhodes Ashley. He had lived in Donalsonville for over 60 years and owned and operated an electrical and and refrigeration service in Donalsonville for many years. He was married to Mildred Johnson Ashley who preceded him in death on August 3, 2005. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Donalsonville. He is survived by one son, Dr. Claude Thomas "Toot" Ashley, Jr. and his wife Kelly of Dothan, AL, and their sons Jude Claude Ashley and Jake Helms Ashley and one sister, Mildred Drake of Donalsonville. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and son Mike Ashley. Pallbearers will be Dr. Scott Tatum, Larry Tyler, Wondell Culbreth, Andy Williams, Gene Drake and Glynn Harrison. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta - Cancer Center.
