WE REGRET TO ANNOUNCE THE PASSING OF MR. HARRY F. COBB, AGE 64, OF EDISON, GA AND FORMERLY OF DONALSONVILLE, GA WHO PASSED AWAY FRIDAY EVENING, APRIL 1, 2011 AT CRISP REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER IN CORDELE, GA. FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MR. COBB WILL BE HELD ON TUESDSAY, APRIL 5, 2011 AT 3:00 PM AT FRIENDSHIP UNITED METHODIST CHURCH IN DONALSONVILLE, GA WITH REV. CHARLES DENNIS AND REV. KIRK LOYLESS OFFICIATING. INTERMENT WILL FOLLOW IN FRIENDSHIP MEMORIAL GARDENS IN DONALSONVILLE, GA. VISITATION WILL BE HELD ON MONDAY EVENING, APRIL 4, 2011 FROM 6:00-8:00 PM AT THE CHAPEL OF EVANS-SKIPPER FUNERAL HOME. MR. COBB WAS BORN IN DONALSONVILLE, GA ON MAY 14, 1946 TO THE LATE BYRON CARSON AND MILDRED EVELYN CROOM COBB. HE GRADUATED FROM SEMINOLE COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL AND FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA. MR. COBB WAS AN EAGLE SCOUT AND WHILE ATTENDING UGA HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE ALPHA GAMMA RHO FRATERNITY. HE ALSO SERVED AS THE SCOUT MASTER IN SEMINOLE COUNTY FOR TROOP 711, SUCCEEDING TIM WILLIAMS. MR. COBB WAS A LIFE TIME FARMER AND FARM MANAGER AND HAD TAUGHT AG IN SCHOOL SYSTEMS IN FOLKSTON, STATESBORO, AND GREENSBORO, GA AND WAS CURRENTLY TEACHING IN EDISON, GA. MR. COBB LEAVES TO CHERISH HIS MEMORY, TWO SONS, ERIC COBB AND HIS WIFE KRISTI OF SPRING HILL, TN AND JAMIE COBB OF WOODSTOCK, GA; ONE BROTHER, LAMAR COBB AND HIS WIFE JOAN OF DONALSONVILLE, GA; ONE SISTER, BOBBIE McKELLER AND HER HUSBAND BILL OF ATHENS, GA; TWO GRANDCHILDREN, TAYLOR AND MATTHEW COBB; AND NUMEROUS NIECES AND NEPHEWS. ACTIVE CASKETBEARERS WILL BE JIMMY LANIER, BOB DUTTON, BEN KIRBO, BUDDY LEE, BENNY HODGES, AND JOHN PHIL SPOONER. HONORARY CASKETBEARERS WILL BE AG EDUCATION ADVISORS FROM SCHOOL SYSTEMS ACROSS THE STATE OF GEORGIA. HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS PARENTS, BYRON AND MILDRED “GRANNY” COBB; HIS WIFE, PHYLLIS COBB; AND A SISTER, AMELIA ANN COBB.
