JAMES LESTER LANE

We regret to announce the passing of James Lester Lane, age 83, who passed away on April 12, 2007 at his residence in Iron City, GA. Funeral services for Mr. Lane will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2007at 11:00 AM at New Home Freewill Baptist Church in Colquitt, Ga with Rev. Benjamin Miller and Kent Raker officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, April 13, 2007 at New Home Freewill Baptist Church. Mr. Lane was born in Miller County, GA on October 31, 1923 to the late Willie E. and Gertrude Roberts Lane. He was a member of Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church in Albany, GA; was retired from Firestone in Albany, GA as well as from farming. He had served in the US Army during World War II. Mr. Lane leaves to cherish his memory his wife Wylene Ard Lane of Iron City, GA; six sons, Jimmy and Rose Marie Lane of Nashville, GA; Gerald and Beth Lane of Donalsonville, GA; Keith and Penny Lane of Colquitt, GA; Clay and Sheila Lane of Ty Ty, GA; Matt and Martina Lane of Albany, GA; and Isaac and Kathy Albritton of Anderson, IN; two daughters, Cheryl and David Hughes of Cummings, GA and Lisa and Lonnie Bartley of Sylvester, GA; three sisters, Lillian Gibson and Lynne Gibson both of Colquitt, GA and Christine Daniel of Albany, GA; 20 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous neices and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Winston Lane; a sister, Peggy Swanner, and a son, Louie Carroll Lane. Pallbearers will be Mr. Lane's sons: Jimmy Lane, Gerald Lane, Keith Lane, Clay Lane, Matt Lane, and Isaac Albritton. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
