We regret to announce the passing of Percy Bland, age 71, Donalsonville, GA who passed away January 27, 2011 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL. A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 30, 2011 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA. Mr. Bland was born in Mobile, AL on June 23, 1939 to Thomas and Berma Braswell Bland. He attended Salem Seminole Baptist Church and was a self-employed auto mechanic. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Joy Bland of Donalsonville GA; four sons, Darin and his wife Natalie of Houston, TX; Ray Bland of Dothan, AL; Lamar Bland of Panama City, FL; John Lynn and his wife Christy of Donalsonville, GA; one daughter, Kay Greenwood and her husband Darren of Elkin, NC; one brother, Tommy “Peanut” Bland and his wife, Becky of Donalsonville, GA; four sisters, Bessie Maxwell and her husband Jeff of Donalsonville, GA; Lena Bellflower of Brinson, GA; Louise Carson of Brinson, GA and Alice Bland Porter of Bainbridge, GA. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death his parents, Thomas and Berma Braswell Bland; one brother, Dennis Bland and two sisters, Joyce Kay Bland and Lucy Bland Thomas. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
