Earnest Loyd

We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Earnest R. Loyd, age 82, of Donalsonville, GA passed away January 16, 2011 at his home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Leroy Starling and Rev. James Scarborough officiating. Burial will follow at Turnage Cemetery in Donalsonville, GA. Visitation will be held Monday, January 17, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA. Mr. Loyd was born in Headland, AL on August 17, 1928 to Earnest and Cosetta Grant Loyd. He lived most of his life in Florida working at paper mills. The Lord saved him when he was thirty years old and he and his wife began to pioneer churches and build churches. He was an electrician by trade, but most of all a preacher for the Lord. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 59 years, Geneva Hersey Loyd; three children; Ronnie E. Loyd and his wife Ruby of Bainbridge, GA; Rebecca Oaks and her husband Bobby of Lakeland, FL; and Cynthia L. Hall and her husband Jackie of Monticello, MS. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and many other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Cosetta Grant Loyd; and a son, Greg R. Loyd. Casketbearers will be Carl Holloway, Johnny McPaul, Tommy Rogers, Chris Oaks, Chad Oaks, and Earnie Loyd. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
