We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Collie Edward Kirkland, Jr., age 65, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Thursday, December 30, 2010 at his residence. Funeral service will be held Sunday, January 2, 2011 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Laddie DeRoco and Dr. Ron McCaskill officiating. Interment will follow at Salem-Seminole Baptist Church Cemetery in Donalsonville, GA. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 1, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Ed was born in Seminole County, GA on September 22, 1945 to the late Collie Edward Kirkland, Sr. and Erma Merle Adams Kirkland. He served six years in the National Guard was of the Baptist faith and a truck driver. He is survived by his wife Pauline Kirkland of Donalsonville, GA; 4 sons, Jamie Kirkland and his wife Mandi of Tallahassee, FL; Bryan Ed Kirkland and his friend Brittany Easom; Kenneth Tice; Lavon Tice and his friend Christy Brown all of Donalsonville, GA; 2 daughters, Tammy Williams and her friend Brent Henry of Colquitt, GA and April Killebrew of Donalsonville, GA; a sister, Linda Willis and her husband Harold of Iron City, GA. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Collie Edward Kirkland, Sr. and Erma Merle Adams Kirkland. Active casketbearers will be Toby Robinson, Josh Tice, Daylon Tice, Allen Love, Thomas Thompson, Josh Cook and Jacob Jackson. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
